EVENT INFO

ABOUT THE EVENT
The Austrian Open has established itself as one of the most important full-contact karate events in Vienna and Central Europe. The 20th anniversary edition will take place in the 23rd district at the Alterlaa Round Hall, which is easily accessible by public transport (U6, Alterlaa stop). Children, teenagers, and adults will compete, improve their skills, and forge new international friendships. The team is working hard to organize a unique and unforgettable event. Thank you for your participation.
WHERE TO SLEEP
Karate in Vienna – Stress-free accommodation near the arena
"When the championship at the Alterlaa Arena calls, timing is everything. To avoid getting stuck in Vienna's traffic on the morning of the competition, we recommend accommodations along the U6 subway line (stations: Alterlaa, Erlaaer Straße, or Am Schöpfwerk).
Why this location?
Short distances: The arena is just a short walk from the 'Alterlaa' station.
Food: You'll find supermarkets and drugstores for last-minute snacks right in the Alterlaa residential complex (please note the Sunday rest period!).
Parking: Many hotels in this area offer parking garages – ideal if you're traveling as a team with the club bus.
Tip: Look for accommodations in the 23rd district (Liesing) or the adjacent 12th district (Meidling). This way, you can focus on the competition and keep your travel time short for recovery."

WHAT TO EAT
Food & Drinks for the Karate Championship in Vienna-Alterlaa 🥋
"To make sure you're well-stocked for your tournament at the Alterlaa Arena, here are the best food spots within walking distance:
Right on site: Kaufpark Alterlaa offers a wide selection, from quick bowls to classic supermarkets for your lunchbox.
Pre-fight dinner: In the immediate vicinity (Liesing district), you'll find many family-run restaurants with healthy, down-to-earth cuisine – ideal for teams.
Hydration: There are drinking fountains in the arena. Vienna's tap water is of spring water quality – just keep refilling your bottle!
Sunday tip: If you run out of supplies on Sunday: The nearest open supermarket is Billa at Meidling train station (only 10 minutes on the U6 subway).
Focus on your fight – the energy comes from the neighborhood! Osu!"
